I discovered The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl before I graduated thanks to Colorlines and I am now obsessed. I love this show because it simply is realistic and relatable. Also I have been waiting for a show where a black woman is the main character and she can be beautiful dark skinned woman with short hair, and doesn't have to follow the medias constructions of beauty...breath. Also this show is hilarious and fun to watch, definitely watch all the episodes. I love the awkward element, because we are all awkward and this show just made me realize how awkward I am.. though I already knew that kinda. And hopefully soon a show like this can be on prime television, because its nothing short than the truth.

I discovered ABG a few months ago as well, and definitely liked that I could relate to her.... Have you heard of the upcoming documentary (set to be released in October or so) called "Dark Girls"? There's a 9 minute preview of it on youtube and on vimeo if you'd like to see it. I am anticipating seeing it. Let me know what you think. :-)
